Raising Money & Having Fun
BFN organises at least two live crowdfunding events a year, at which three approved projects nominated, screened and selected by members are invited to present to an audience of potential donors. Following the pitch and a brief Q&A session for each project, the audience is guided through a live pledging session by our charismatic pledge master. Donations of money, time, expertise and introductions are welcomed, but the main objective is to raise crucial funding to ensure the projects presented can be delivered. The entire event is an evening of philanthropic engagement, networking and fun!

What we do
A key part of BFN’s mission is to help connect inspiring non-profit organisations serving Britain’s Black community to the philanthropic resources that exist in wider society but that they do are not always visible or accessible
We will offer a roadmap to funders and provide sources of support in terms of professional advice, to create sustainable and well governed organisations.
Our goal is to inspire, connect and strengthen African and Caribbean heritage people in Britain and those who want to support them by leveraging our collective resources to create the systemic change we all want to see.
Built on the ethos of a giving circle, BFN harnesses thoughtful and intentional giving to help changemakers serving Britain’s Black community. We are building a bridge between grassroots giving and institutional philanthropy, connecting community organisations to the vast, complex philanthropy ecosystem.
Organisations we Support Through our Funding Events
We support Black founded (African, Caribbean and mixed heritage) and led non-profit organisations, giving our members the fulfilling opportunity to invest their time and resources in organisations where values and giving priorities align with theirs. BFN supports organisations working on solutions for social mobility, poverty alleviation, racial equity, education and youth services, community development, arts and cultural advancement, history and heritage, and social enterprise.
